The great ships in the world in size
If erected, Mont's super tanker is still more than 100 meters taller than the Keangnam building in Vietnam.
Mont tankers used to have other names such as Knock Nevis, Jahre Viking, Happy Giant or Seawise Giant. It is 458.45 m long, 68.8 m wide and weighs 260,941 tons. If erected, Mont will be 108.45 m taller than Keangnam tower in Vietnam. The 50,000-horsepower engine allows the ship to travel at a maximum speed of 16 knots / 1 hour (about 30 km / h).
Mont is the longest ship ever built. However, it does not have the largest load. It was led by four Batillus-class super tankers.
The TI class tanker is the largest in the world in operation. It is a product of Daewoo Marine Engineering and Shipbuilding Group, Korea.
The TI class ships weighed 234,000 tons with a length of 380 m, width of 68 m. They are capable of traveling at speeds of 30.6 km / h. This type can carry a maximum of 503.409,900 liters of oil.
CSCL Globe of China Shipping Corporation (CSCL) is the first of five ships of the same type that it has ordered to transport containers around the world. CSCL Globe started operations at the end of 2014 with a maximum capacity of 19,100 containers.
CSCL Globe is 400 m long and weighs 187,541 tons. The powerful engine allows the train to travel at a maximum speed of 41 km / h. However, its cruise speed is only equivalent to 19 km / h. The engine of the boat is 17 m high. The crew consists of 31 people.
The next large long haul container ship is named Mary Maersk with the capacity to transport over 17,600 containers.
On the first voyage at sea, the Mary Maersk freighter sailed from the port of Algeciras, Spain and carried 17,603 containers and headed for the final destination of the port of Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia. Built and launched at Daewoo Group's shipyard, with a length of 400 meters and a width of 59m, Mary Maersk has a maximum capacity of 18,270 TEU containers. Moreover, this is also a ship with a fuel consumption of less than half that of its predecessors and a reduction of 50% in emissions.
Pieter Schelte is a specialized vessel in the oil industry. It was built to transport the rig from the factory to the installation site or vice versa. Pieter Schelte was born at Daewoo Marine Engineering and Shipbuilding Corporation, South Korea.
Pieter Schelte has a length of 382 m, width 124 m. 8 engines allow it to move at a speed of 26 km / h. The crew consists of 571 people.
MS Ore Brasil is the world's largest ore carrier, owned by Brazilian mining company Vale. This is the first of 19 400,000-ton ore carriers ordered by Vale of Daewoo Marine Engineering and Shipbuilding Group, South Korea and Rongsheng Heavy Industry Group in Jiangsu, China.
These ships are 362 meters long and 65 meters wide, capable of traveling at speeds of 28.5 km / h. They are responsible for transporting ore from Brazil to Asian countries via a route around South Africa. The crew consists of 34 people.
