BMW X2 2024 launched, priced from 42,000 USD

German luxury car company BMW launches the new generation X2. The 2024 X2 has two versions, including xDrive28i and M35i xDrive - both equipped with a 2.0 turbocharged engine. All-wheel drive, 7-speed dual-clutch transmission with mechanical limited-slip differential and Sport Boost function maximize acceleration in 10 seconds.

The xDrive28i version has a capacity of 241 horsepower, maximum torque of 400 Nm. The car accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.2 seconds. While the M35i version produces 317 horsepower and maximum torque of 400 Nm, becoming the most powerful 4-cylinder engine BMW has ever sold. The M35i accelerates a second faster than its sibling, in 5.2 seconds.

X2 2025 upgrades the suspension and steering system. The M35i version comes standard with the M adaptive system, while the xDrive28i version is optional.

To avoid confusion with the X1 , the German car company equips the new generation X2 with uniquely designed LED headlights and new style LED taillights. Characteristic kidney-shaped grille, hexagonal outline, inspired by X4 , X6 . The air vent below creates a highlight with a black surround, the rear of the car adds fake air vents and reflective headlights to create a sportier look. The M35i version has 4 exhaust pipes divided into 2 pairs. BMW adds a new red color.

The interior is inspired by the BMW iX, where the center console houses a newly designed gearshift button. A pair of curved one-piece screens, including a 10.25-inch screen behind the steering wheel and a 10.7-inch entertainment touch screen with iDrive 9, supports Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connection. The entertainment screen allows playing games when the car is stationary thanks to cooperation with AirConsole with 10 available titles. The new generation X2 increases in size so the interior space is more spacious.

As planned, the new generation BMW X2 will debut first at the Japan Mobility Show 2023 in Japan on October 26. Then sold in the US from March 2024 for 42,000-51,400 USD.
